Dr. Abraham Hardee, CMO
Abraham Hardee, D.O., is the Chief Medical Officer of the Community Health Center of the New River Valley. Dr. Hardee is a graduate of Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. He joined the Community Health Center of the New River Valley in 2014.
A Christiansburg native, Dr. Hardee received his undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech.
Dr. Sarah Turner
Sarah McGinley Turner, D.O., joined our staff in 2015. She is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her fellowship at Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Turner is board certified in osteopathic manipulative medicine and sports medicine.
In addition to family medicine, Dr. Turner offers osteopathic manipulative treatments for the relief of injury, chronic pain, and anxiety.
Charles (Chuck) Smith, FNP-BC
Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Radford University in 2008 and completed his Master of Science in Nursing at Wheeling Jesuit University in 2014. Mr. Smith is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and has been serving patients in the New River Valley for several years.
His past employment experiences include Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital, Princeton Community Hospital and LewisGale Hospital Montgomery.
Morgan Akers, FNP-BC
Morgan Akers joins our staff as a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Akers, received her Masters of Science in Nursing/ Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. She will provide primary care to patients of all ages.
Morgan recently moved to the New River Valley from Princeton, West Virginia.
Anthony (Tony) Ramsey, Ph.D., FNP
Dr. Anthony Ramsey volunteers his time at our Christiansburg Tuesday evening clinic, while also serving on our Board of Directors.
Dr. Ramsey received his Bachelors and Masters of Nursing from Radford University and his Ph.D. in Nursing from West Virginia University. Dr. Ramsey is currently the Director of the School of Nursing at Radford University, Radford, Virginia
Dr. Linda Morrow
Dr. Linda Morrow is an OB/GYN. She sees gynecology patients at the Giles and Montgomery Centers.
Dr. Morrow received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. She has been in practice over 20 years.
Dr. Catherine Mansdoerfer
Catherine Mansdoerfer, DDS, offers general dentistry, extractions and restorative procedures at our Montgomery and Giles Centers. Dr. Mansdoerfer attended Virginia Tech and the VCU School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia. Her background also includes completion of the Carilion Dental Clinic General Practice Residency Program in Roanoke, Virginia.
Dr. Mansdoerfer, originally from Ashburn, Virginia, now lives in the New River Valley, and is an avid Hokie fan.
Dr. Marie Joseph
Dr. Marie Joseph, DDS, has provided dental care to our patients for over seven years. She has been with us through our transition from free clinic to Community Health Center and highly values our mission to serve.
Dr. Joseph received her doctorate from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
Dr. Mona Semtner
Mona Semtner, DDS, has been volunteering with us since we were a free clinic, and continues to support our mission. When she is not volunteering with us, Dr. Semtner and her husband have a private practice located in Roanoke.
Dr. Semtner graduated with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Density.
Ashley Slagel-Perry, LCSW
Ashley Slagel-Perry, LCSW, joined our Behavioral Health team in 2014. Ms. Slagel-Perry provides behavioral health consultation and psychotherapy to adults and adolescents in our Montgomery and Giles Centers. She also works closely with our physicians and nurses to provide quality care in our integrated health care model.
Ms. Slagel-Perry received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining us, she worked as a clinical counselor for Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission in South Carolina.
Erin Shaffer, LCSW
Erin Shaffer, LCSW, joined our Behavioral Health team in 2017. Ms. Shaffer provides behavioral health consultation and psychotherapy to adults and adolescents at our Radford/Pulaski Center. Ms. Shaffer received her Master’s in Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. Prior to joining us, she worked as a medical social worker in Northern Virginia.
A native of Pulaski County, Ms. Shaffer returns to the New River Valley as a place to raise her family.
