Health Insurance Marketplace

During Open Enrollment individuals and families can sign up for health insurance through the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace. During other parts of the year, individuals and families may qualify to obtain health insurance through special enrollment periods.

The online Federal Health Insurance Marketplace is a way for people who have no insurance or people who lack adequate coverage to find personal health insurance options. Through an online tool (www.healthcare.gov), the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace seeks to make purchasing insurance easier for individuals and families.

The Community Health Center has Certified Application Counselors (CAC’s) at each location (Pearisburg, Dublin and Christiansburg) to help guide users through the online Federal Health Insurance Marketplace. CAC’s are certified by the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services and are available to assist you in obtaining timely information about the online Federal Health Insurance Marketplace and find insurance options that best suit your needs.  This service is free of charge!

To schedule a free consultation with a CAC, please call to make an appointment.
