A new home for Health, Healing & Hope

In the New River Valley, we’ve built something special—a health center delivering high-quality medical, dental, behavioral health care, and substance use treatment to neighbors, regardless of ability to pay. The Community Health Center of the New River Valley has consistently been recognized among the top 10% of health centers in the United States.

The challenge is that we are severely limited by our current facility, a 1940s-era converted motor inn. We have modernized the facility to the greatest extent possible, but hundreds of people remain on a waiting list for our care.

It’s time to build for a healthy, sustainable future. We are embarking on a campaign to build a modern facility that will serve our community for generations. We need your help to make it a reality now.

  • Our is to raise $4.5 million from private, foundation, and public funds to assist in the construction of our new home
  • Provide the New River Valley with one of the most advanced facilities of its kind, which is appropriate, as we are one of the most underserved regions in the commonwealth
  • CHCNRV is also an exceptionally financially stable organization with stable long-term leadership, a devoted board, and nearly 100 exceptional employees
Our new facility on Akers Farm Road will increase our space from 8,000 sf to 36,000 and allow us to welcome more than 2,200 new patients.
Our current Christiansburg facility is housed in a converted 1940s motor inn. The New River Valley remains significantly underserved. We can change that now.

New and expanded services will include a full service pharmacy, an enhanced food pantry, community room, training area, and much more.
