HELP US BUILD A BRIGHTER FUTURE BY DESIGN.
In the New River Valley, we’ve built something special—a health center delivering high-quality medical, dental, behavioral health care, and substance use treatment to neighbors, regardless of ability to pay. The Community Health Center of the New River Valley has consistently been recognized among the top 10% of health centers in the United States.
The challenge is that we are severely limited by our current facility, a 1940s-era converted motor inn. We have modernized the facility to the greatest extent possible, but hundreds of people remain on a waiting list for our care.
It’s time to build for a healthy, sustainable future. We are embarking on a campaign to build a modern facility that will serve our community for generations. We need your help to make it a reality now.
- Our is to raise $4.5 million from private, foundation, and public funds to assist in the construction of our new home
- Provide the New River Valley with one of the most advanced facilities of its kind, which is appropriate, as we are one of the most underserved regions in the commonwealth
- CHCNRV is also an exceptionally financially stable organization with stable long-term leadership, a devoted board, and nearly 100 exceptional employees

Community Health Center is a place to address the healthcare needs of everyone: The insured, the uninsured, people with jobs, the old, the young, the healthy, and the struggling. They all have two things in common. They are our neighbors, and they deserve quality, accessible healthcare.

EXPAND ACCESS
We will expand access to services for underserved persons by replacing our current outdated facility with a modern, much larger facility.
- Serve an additional 2,281 patients each year
- Provide 8,053 additional patient visits annually
- Hire more than nine new health practitioners

REDUCE STRESS
By providing regular care to those who often postpone care, we reduce the burden on our health care system.
- Support public health goals and economic development
- Reduce the burden on our hospitals and urgent care facilities
- Prevent unmanageable health care debt for families

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
The new facility will offer 36,000 square feet of offices, exam rooms, labs and more.
- Expanded array of services, including X-rays and optometry
- Advanced dental procedures such as root canals and dentures
- A peer center for those with substance use disorder
New and expanded services will include a full service pharmacy, an enhanced food pantry, community room, training area, and much more.
